2009 Predictions
THE OX 2009 is the year of the Earth Ox. A solid fellow with his feet firmly planted on the ground. This guy does not do anything in a hurry but is very composed, very thorough and very determined to a point he will knock anyone aside who gets in his way so be wary of this potential beast. He is the leader of the year and will set the pace for the rest of us so don’t expect quick returns on investments either in terms of energy spent on a project or in financial terms. It is not the easiest of years for the Ox in 2009 as there is less water about this year so the ground is too hot and the grass scarce. This will make it hard for the Ox to produce anything. In other words it is heavy going for the Ox this year unless he moves to higher ground which holds the potential to be cooler and provide more sustenance. This vulnerability to the leader of the year translates into potential outbreaks of mad cow disease or foot and mouth or something similar which has the potential to see the cost of beef soaring. The best advice to offer to farmers is to move their stock to higher ground where there is less risk of problems developing from the earth. For anyone born in the year of the Ox there is a vulnerability to ill health so long walks in the mountains taking in the fresh air is a must and will help you to feel more comfortable. It is important to remember the flat land is no good for you this year so stay away from the park and take to the mountains.
THE SNAKE has a natural affinity to the Ox and thus will be considered to be a member of the A team. He understands the energy of Ox and thus will find it easy to adjust to the changes the Ox may bring. This is a natural phenomenon for the snake as he sheds his skin naturally. It was Confucius who said ‘tell me and I will forget, show me and I will remember, involve me and I will understand.’ This is the quality of the snake this year. He will feel he belongs to the team and feel he is being appreciated for the effort he is putting in. There is a strong money energy around this fellow so selling anything that looks like a snake will pay dividends this year – any excuse to buy a handbag for the ladies so snake skin look a likes are likely to sell like hot cakes. The only problem for the Snake is his tendency to look too good and too attractive which makes him a very keen target for theft. This could manifest in a number of ways including contamination of the Snake’s water supply to poison him and present a threat to his life. He needs to be a cautious investor.
THE ROOSTER is another animal in the Snake’s A team this year. This character is always happy to lead from the front and always happy to be up at dawn and to put in a full working day. There are few animals with the drive and ambition of the Rooster and he will be more than happy to be involved with the leader energy of the Ox. The Rooster is in a very strong position this year which makes him a sound investment so organic chicken farmers can look forward to a season of plenty. The Rooster also represents the West so again this is a strong area for investment so pitching for business in the West is recommended. However, the West is very strong headed and not remotely flexible in its thinking in 2009. There is a tremendous vulnerability to ill health because the area is out of balance with a strong overload of the metal element which is OK for anyone needing this element or someone who can handle this energy. As metal represents sound then anyone using their voice for their career such as actors or singers will be OK in this area.
THE RAT It has been said to Barak Obama recently ‘the parties over, now the hard work begins’. Unfortunately this also applies to the Rat in 2009. 2008 was his year and he has enjoyed the acclaim and respect that this brings – now he has to knuckle down and get on with some really hard work. Indeed it could be said the Rat has more than made the most of his year and has been prone to burning the candle at both ends. Now he has to pay and caution is needed regarding his health. There is a tremendous possibility of some disease amongst rats and mice this year which can spread at an alarming rate. This situation will present a huge challenge to the authorities who will be scratching their heads and wondering what to do to curtail the outbreak.
The Rat’s natural seat is in the north which holds a very draining energy this year so any activity in this area should be approached with caution. If you are thinking in terms of pitching for business this year then the north is definitely an area to put on the back burner until 2010 and focus your efforts in another direction. Generally the north needs to be avoided so don’t buy a property facing north or locate your office in the north of your building. This is not a seat of power this year but more a position that will feel as though you are walking in treacle. There are also potential health issues in the North as generally this position is very cold and thus there is a vulnerability to colds and flu. It is wise not to eat very cold things or to take chilled drinks throughout 2009. There is a chance of the Rat receiving a windfall of some kind in 2009 but he needs to be cautious. Extravagance and luxury is not a natural energy for him so when he finds himself with this extra cash in his hands it will be easy for him to loose his head and act in a foolish manner. He may think himself invincible and do something reckless like driving an expensive car at high speed and loosing control of the vehicle. He must be wise and keep himself in check in this instance.
THE TIGER is the leader in waiting as 2010 is his year. This is a very natural energy for the Tiger as he is happy to lie in waiting and knows exactly when the right time presents itself to pounce. It is a very good year for the Tiger in 2009 – or anything that looks like a tiger, so cats in general including big cats like the Leopold. There is a vulnerability for the Tiger in that he is a very attractive animal who has an intriguing air about him so he needs to be aware of potential predators especially hunters using guns. There is a threatening energy with the Tiger that can come fast and quick which could translate into something like the bullet of a gun. In general the Tiger needs to watch his back for the unexpected. This vulnerability could also translate into some natural disaster that besets the Tiger like a typhoon, heavy rain that causes a landslide, lightning, or a big forest fire. It is crucial for the Tiger to identify his enemy and then keep his eye on this force and be sure to stay well ahead of him. The Tiger must be selective in who he trusts. Animals that present some threat to him are the monkey and the A team – that being the Snake, Rooster and Ox when they are together.
THE RABBIT has the same vulnerability to the hunters as the Tiger so this guy also has to watch his back. In fact the Rabbit is in a weaker position than the Tiger as he very easily forgets about his problems and gets distracted by the good things in life which translates into a life that can be up and down very quickly. Overall he is OK as long as he remains shrewd and accepts that not everyone in his life is trustworthy.
The Rabbit’s natural seat is in the East which is holding a strong argumentative energy and is under attack particularly from the West. The West wants benefit from the East but the two are not combining. This can be a very quick and explosive energy so caution is needed as matters can get out of hand very suddenly. The best advice to offer is to keep a low profile if visiting a pub in the east of a district or in the east part of your country and don’t put your staff room in the east. If you have a back door in the East then make sure to lock it when you leave your premises as there is a vulnerability to theft here too. The East represents the wood energy which includes fruit and vegetables so agriculture is likely to be in big trouble with costs escalating and products becoming quite expensive. Trade with the Far East is not likely to be beneficial.
THE DRAGON This includes anything looking like a Dragon such as a Lizard. This is a very steady year for the Dragon and one where he is going to need the support of his allies as his own strength is somewhat challenged. If this natural leader can accept this help with good grace and leave it to his assistants to shine for once then he will survive this year. It is important to remember pride comes before a fall. The Dragon’s natural element is earth and because 2009 is so overloaded with this element then rather than feeling supported the Dragon will feel overloaded so he must be prepared to take more of a back seat in proceedings.
The Dragon’s natural seat is the South East which holds some money energy but it is not as strong as we have known it in the past. The good news is all is not lost so if we cut our cloth accordingly, tighten the belt and plug the holes then there will be a respectable recovery to be made probably stemming from the south east. There is need for caution however as there is a chance of someone misleading you so don’t take anything at face value particularly between the Spring and Summer seasons. If someone offers you a great deal at this time then don’t listen as there will inevitably be a catch.
THE HORSE has the same vulnerability to theft as the Snake but in this case it is more likely to be the very best who are most prone so top class race horses or breeding horses need to pay extra attention to their security. For anyone born in the year of the Horse there is a chance of fame and acclaim but caution is needed as this will breed jealousy and bring someone who uses your name and ability for their own gain. Luckily the horse has some very loyal allies so as long as he places his trust in these people he will come out laughing, but he does need to be careful.
The Horse’s natural seat is in the South and this is the most valuable position of all in 2009 as everything is supporting the South and offers the potential of the greatest balance of energy. Indeed everything seems to fall into place in the South. This means buying a property on a north/ south axis will be a sound investment especially if this property has water in the form of a river, lake or ocean in the north sector. If the water is not in the north but is in the North East or North West this is also OK. There is also strong career potential in the South in 2009 so making telephone calls from an office in the South sector of your premises, or studying in the South will all help to enhance your career. Placing 4 pieces of Chinese Bamboo in a vase of water and placing it in this area is highly recommended. Be careful not to make this bamboo too big but keep it in proportion with the surroundings.
THE SHEEP/GOAT This is not an easy year for the Sheep as his energy is directly opposed to the leader of the year, the Ox. That being said if he uses his common sense he can play ahead of the game as he knows where his enemy sits this year. We also know the Ox is not as strong as he would like us to believe so if the Sheep is really careful and really shrewd he can turn the whole situation round and come out on top. The key issue for the Sheep is to have his back covered and trust no one. Protection from the enemy is paramount and as extreme as it sounds, wearing red underwear throughout the year will help find a positive result.
The natural seat for the sheep is in the South West which in 2009 is a difficult energy to handle especially for the female. It is a quiet energy with little being produced so there is a felling of stagnation. This area is best avoided especially for a female visiting a hospital as there is very little chance of any improvement in her health. There is strong relationship energy in this area so despite any ill health the female will feel supported.
THE MONKEY needs to plan carefully this year. There is a vulnerability to heat so the Monkey is best to avoid climates that are too hot or going out in the mid day sun. He is known for his partying and light hearted attitude and as someone who throws caution to the wind. The monkey will do well to reign in these tendencies this year and curb his devil may care attitude. He needs to be particularly careful where heights are concerned and most definitely needs to avoid dangerous activities like bungee jumps as it is easy for the Monkey to strangle himself this year.His natural seat is in the South West so the same principles apply here as did for the sheep.
THE DOG is sitting in a weak position so like the Dragon if he has any sense he uses the energy of his assistants this year as they are strong. This is never natural to any animal as we all like our own way best but flexibility is the key in 2009 and letting go of the bone will pay dividends. It isn’t a year for rising to great heights but it can be a year of steady progress in the right direction if the dog uses his intelligence. His natural seat in the North West has more career opportunities particularly for someone who has a keen eye and knows a wise investment when he sees it. If you are clever there is a chance to make a lot of money in this area. There is strong leadership energy here too and this area has tremendous potential for power.
THE PIG has a chance of a slight reduction of fortune this year but he is still 70% OK so has all to play for. In fact the Pig is holding the seal of approval which can translate into attaining something he has long been trying for. Life can feel a bit of a roller coaster ride for the Pig this year but the peaks and troughs even themselves out in the end. He will just roll along in his own inimitable style. The Ox holds a quality for the Pig in as much as he has the potential to offer some sense of direction. The last two years have seen emotional turmoil for the Pig so the Ox will help to settle this and provide a more stable environment for him.
His natural seat is in the North West so the same principles apply as for the Dog. Overall there is not a lot of progress in 2009 as it offers the potential of being the same or even worse than 2008. There is a lot of change still going through. The best way to avoid the bad energy is to be a realist and listen to the truth. In the past there has been a tendency to wallpaper over the cracks but this approach does not even begin to touch the severity of the current climate. Again I say, if you know your enemy, know your weaknesses and your strengths, then you can have a strategy in place and be one step ahead of the game. It may seem selfish but the most important thing is to protect yourself first, this way you still have your strength to protect all those who rely on you. Protect them first and you fall because you have nothing left for you, it’s as simple as that. What do I mean by protection? You need to know how to handle people, know their energy and how to adjust yours to their circumstance. It doesn’t mean you have to change, it doesn’t mean you have to compromise yourself, its just about speaking a language they understand and will respond to and give you the result you desire. In China when they are building a housing estate they put in the road first then the energy knows where to go, the rest naturally follows. This is how we need to be ourselves in 2009. Put in the road of communication to the self, make the self accessible and the rest will naturally follow.
There is money around next year, in fact it is the key energy in 2009, but it is not our money. It is still the main topic of conversation but it continues to be hard to access. People will be looking for money and when it comes it will not be enough so they will carry on looking for more. Interestingly a large portion of the world’s finance is locked up in property and that is where it is destined to stay for 2009. It is a strong energy and it will make a good investment for the long term but this is only if buying a property and not for selling on. The most positive time for the money markets is the spring but overall the money energy is still difficult to handle in 2009. The strongest areas for recovery in the financial markets are the south east and the south so it is these areas that will be leading the way throughout the year and that will present the most attractive investments. The west and the central areas will be trailing and very much in a back seat position and particular care will be needed here especially in August. The north and the east are not strong energies at all and are best avoided if possible. We have to be wise in 2009 and proceed with an air of caution. Finances are tight so counterfeits, black market and illegal deals will be a temptation. This will not be through choice as some will be tempted into this action through necessity.
In a nutshell no one wants to take responsibility so will prefer to pass the buck. The symptoms will present themselves freely but it will be hard to pinpoint the cause. Unexpected things will occur that we will find hard to explain such as someone doing something against us and making us a scapegoat. The government, friendships, relationship will all be blaming each other. This will sort the men from the boys.
